1 Application-orientated Ethics
Reiter

Learning Objectives: In this module, you will become familiar with some of the central terms in moral philosophy – terms like ethics and morality. You’ll come to understand ethics not only as a field of academic study, but also as a way of thinking systematically about morality. You’ll learn to distinguish moral rules from other types of rules – such as social conventions or legal norms.
Method: Key distinctions and ideas will be introduced in short segments – sometimes through presentations, sometimes through film. Along the way, you'll encounter thought-provoking questions designed to connect those distinctions to your everyday experience. Exercises will help you self-check.
Requirements: You are invited to actively engage with the material from all three units. Through the pauses for thought, you'll connect what you learn with what you already know from your experiences so far.
