Task Description
Good discussion depends on open and honest exchange. Especially in ethics, it’s important to explore different possible actions systematically, and to explain your decision in a way that is clear, coherent, and open to scrutiny.
Ask yourself: “What would I do in this situation?” Then share your thoughts.
Before writing your post, take a moment to review the guidelines for a strong contribution and the forum rules. Once your post is finished, read two others. Choose one you agree with and explain why, using your own reasoning. Choose another you disagree with, and explain why as well—respectfully and with thoughtful argument.
Criteria
- Your title should reflect the key idea of your post. It can be creative, but clarity and focus come first.
- Clearly state where you stand. This is where the discussion begins: Would you save the boy—yes or no?
- Support your stance with arguments. Are your points precise and well-founded? What assumptions do you rely on? Are there any gaps in logic or false conclusions? Can your claim be reasonably defended?
- Conclusion: You may want to summarise your key points, weigh priorities, or offer a final, well-considered judgment.
Formal Requirements
- Check your spelling, grammar, and punctuation before you post.
- Write your contribution as continuous prose (not bullet points).
- Each post should be around 500–1,000 characters (including spaces).
- Each comment on another post should be around 250–400 characters (including spaces).
Forum Guidelines
- The discussion must remain respectful and focused.
- When replying to someone else’s post, engage thoughtfully with their position.
